On the inside of the caseback will be found the Vacheron & Constantin name and Maltese Cross (A).
On pre-1950 models there will be a six-digit case serial number (B).
Those after 1950 will also have a reference / model number (C).
Cases of precious metal will also display the casemaker's responsibility mark (D), the Helvetia symbol of Swiss manufacture (E), and assay marks for purity (F).

If it is a very thin automatic, I would guess that it uses the marvelous cal 1121 movement. If there is nothing inscribed on the back, then all the information about the ref. #, case #, and movement must be obtained by removing the case back. With the cas...

1121 movement and the numbers you need should be inside the caseback (which you should have a professional watchmaker remove). Bill

Beautiful dial and bezel; looks like hammered white gold. The dial says: "VACHERON & CONSTANTIN" which would indicate a more vintage piece...perhaps 1970's. In that case the movement may be a Calibre 1001 or 1003. But Dan is right. The case S/N is in ...
The dial says "AUTOMATIC" so I would expect to see caliber 1121.
And from that period, very probably with a Gyromax balance. Vacheron made a lot of unusual dials during that period.
