Vacheron Constantin

Very pretty indeed

Thanks for posting, Bill.

I strongly agree about the beauty of the cal. 1400.  The architecture harks back to the more classic designs in VC's past and the immaculate finishing really puts icing on the cake.

It is really a pity that its dimunitive size (or the trend towards bigger cases) limits the opportunities for presenting such beauty through a transparent case back.  VC was already pushing the issue even with the smaller grand classique (and the sea of visible spacer) so the solid case back here is justified (though unfortunate).

The newer cal. 4400 is also finished to impeccably high standards but, with its large plates, has a more workman-like (robust) construction compared to the more aesthetically pleasing cal. 1400 and its dainty bridges.

Best regards,

Kazumi
