Making a simple watch is not easy to do, since any aspect of the design or execution that is not well considered will stand out in a negative way. As great and interesting as the complications and Metiers d'Art pieces can be, I find that the essence of Vacheron Constantin is revealed in the excellence of its most basic timepieces.

clock adds balance beautifully and this is a lovely automatic movement. Also the colour of the date disc does not 'stand out' in relation to the dial, which is the case with the same model with slate grey dial just recently introduced at WoW in Hong Kong....
