WatchTech

Very good point...

So another question to ask will be how does a silicone mainspring will respond to technicians nicks and bruises compared to metallic ones. My initial concerns were based on the manufacturing process, which is imperfect. However, your point is extremely important as nano-cracks can be induced during assembly by the technician.

Perhaps the more appropriate question should be:

What will be the long term durability of silicon main springs compared to metal ones, considering the entire set of events encountered in a watches life (such as wearing, mechanical shocks, thermal shocks, service, repair...) ?

Cheers
