Seiko used to have a knack of making massive watches very wearable. Had some friends with slender wrists try the 47mm Landmaster the other day and they were all surprised at how well it fit 😊🦾

Manual wind, hand finished, low volume chrono by montblancs minerva workshops in villeret. Enamel dials is the cherry 🍒 ...  

While many more have been finally made than initially promised to by are truly astounding in terms of design and finishing. Would definitely like to add one with a 13.21 movement one day (my hand is too puny for the larger ones 🤷🏻‍♂️)🤞🏻

I’d love to add one at some stage - but have yet to find a modern dial that draws me in, apart from some of the limited edition recent releases that are hard to source.

But do try especially the 44 and 45mm ones first to make sure they are comfortable on your wrist 😊👍🏻

I have a 17.2cm wrist - with a flat top which makes larger wears more accessible. Largest in my collection is my Zeitwerk Striking Time at 44mm in WG which wears quite comfortably - but with relatively short lugs.

I’ve reached the age where I can pull off the “hat look”🤣. Trilbies are easier than most - working up the nerve for a Homburg!

But truly admire the men who do 👍🏻

The issue is the column wheel cap which takes up a large amount of real estate on the caseback and its polished surface is quite a distraction. The CDV movement is prettier - but they both come a distance 2nd and 3rd to the Datograph.

I have a fairly large number of watches so don’t tend to wear any one for more than a day or so. Ironically the only one to exhibit rate issues was the Datograph - which had become massively magnetized for some reason. The balance wheel was banking and th...

I’m no fanboy either - I try to find the positives in all brands - although some are easier than others 🤣. As far as FPJ goes I’m off the beaten track with this Linesport Rattrapante, a Havana RG Chronometre Souverain and a platinum Quantieme Perpetuel. I...
