For so many reasons...this is my Black Swan

Belonged to my father from the 1960s. He had it on a huge gold bracelet and wore it for Black Tie events. He died in 1979, and I started wearing his watch in the early 1980s - as a teenager. I remember being invited to go "punting at Oxford" by a potential girlfriend and her family. It was very very middle class. And let me tell you, in 1983 this JLC was enormous....watches were just a lot smaller. And with its huge gold bracelet....it was even bigger! When the potential girlfriend saw the watch and her (very middle class) family saw it, I heard lots of sniggers and laughter behind my back. I was dumped the next day....and I knew why. I was distraught and blamed my gaudy watch.

But actually......how wrong could they (and I ) have been!! Look at this .... to me its just stunning! My Black Swan....now my most prized watch.
