Grail pair of vintage dress waches

Life is funny! As a collector of vintage jumbo manual-wind time-only (JMWTO) watches, with jumbo being defined as 36mm and up,it's often harder to find these.

Especially for vintage VC and PP. Jumbo VC's are a bit more common than jumbo PP's, but they're often of variable condition, and sometimes optimistic pricing.

So after spending some time searching (and being frustrated, and losing out on a few), I lucked out.  I was fortunate enough to snag the PP 2481 , and then the VC barely 8 weeks later at non-extortionate prices.

Both are 37mm in YG, and have lugs with plenty of vintage character.   PP and VC JMWTO grails acquired! smile

For me, a grail watch is a watch that does not need to be rare, or expensive to acquire (though sometimes they are), but a watch that you may have some challenge acquiring
 - in the form you like (eg. good condition, or in a rarer configuration)
 - at a price you can live with
and which is a watch you cherish for a long time.

In this instance, there were several PP2481's which had been polished which I did not like.  For the VC, though jumbos in 37-38mm can be found, the dials are often in average condition, or quite plain, so I was happy to find this clean honeycomb dial.

Still on the hunt for a vintage jumbo AP to get a grail vintage trio, but meanwhile, really pleased to find this grail vintage duo.!
