Great idea!

 

I had great plans for today's watch with static and wrist and even an in car shot all planned out in my head...  Then today started out with a bang.  Our church was broken into and vandalized in the pre-dawn hours.  I'm an elder so have been involved in the damage assessment, etc.  That reduced my day 1 entry to a few iPhone and 1 Q2 Monochrom wrist shots of my old faithful 145.022 on its 1450 bracelet.  Both circa 1984 but bearing up nicely, I'd say.  I did make a run downtown late this afternoon and that will make days 2 and 3 entries interesting.  So without further ado, day 1:

What I like a lot is that it looks so dark, so black on your pictures. Not only the dial, the whole watch looks dark, bracelet including. Have not seen it in real (how could these tines?). Do you find it also extra dark looking?

... taken under a very bright clear and sunny day which has rendered the watch darker. The bracelet is polished on it external links and brushed in the center ones. The dial is truly black and the polished ceramic bezel deep black too and this contributes...

And yes, often it’s really these well -aged Vintages, and especially from Rolex, which can offer real also “ GADA” properties (GADA=Go Anywhere, Do Anything). IMO, a nice Explorer sample, a very nice one, as I was lucky to find it, already several years ...
