Hello Mike! Interesting theme!! Truth is that we usually...

... think on dials and movements but bezels, case shape and design as well as case backs are aspects that add to the beauty and attractive of a timepiece.

Speaking of cases I have two favorites: those of vintage Submariners with their sharp polished bevels are so beautiful and have set an standard for diving watches which has been copied by many other brands. A true classic!

My second favorite is the case of my Grand Seiko GMT automatic high beat: a case which is shared by several other models of same brand.

Close inspection of this thick lugs case shows a masterful work of design and art of polishing with contrasts of flat and curved (even concave!) surfaces with both high polish and frosted polish finish.

While I'm not very fond of too brightly polished watches, this particular case is an exception as it results mesmerizing to view how light plays with its surfaces as the incident angle changes as well as intriguing to try to understand how the polisher technician worked to get all those different angles together to perfection.

I hope my pictures show my point!

Hagwe Mike and all our dear friends here!
