I can´t agree more with you Art...
these FF, and other watches like the Seamaster 300 (I love this watch), are simply stunning watches.
I think that your words explains it really well, "the FF are watches that trancend its generation". For me, the same happen with the SM 300, the Memovoxes, the Rolexes and some others... Sometimes, vintage diver watches are quasi perfects...
