The Junghans Mega 1 was made between 1990 and 1995. Until the mid 90’s there was only one transmitter for radio controlled watches, in Frankfurt am Main.
In the mid 90’s transmitters were built in England and in the USA. The American Junghans models could only be used in northern America. About ten years ago transmitters were built in Japan, and Seiko, Citizen and Casio started to produce radio controlled watches.
Junghans and Seiko jointly developed the first multiband radio controlled movement that could be used “worldwide”. The Junghans radio controlled wristwatches made today use Seiko movements.
