More gifts than I can count, but here are the big ones
Luckily just having come home from vacation I went and got all the watches from the vault, so they "fall readily to hand", and as I look them over, many said "I was a gift!"
First from family close to me:
Chronoswiss OPUS Skeleon - given to me on my birthday about 10 years ago by my wife. A risky move on her part, so she bought it new from our local dealer who was quite generous about the price and accessories. She got this one because she knew I'm most attracted to movements: "it's what's inside that counts"
Admiral Pocket Watch - given to me by my father-in-law after the death of his wife Joan, my mother-in-law. It was her dad's watch and so I overhauled it and got it running and shiny again.
Hamilton Pocket Watch - given to me by my Grandmother on the death of my Grandfather Carl. It's labeled Neasham Jewelers in Ottumwa Iowa (where Radar O'Reilly was also from).
Omega Bumper Wind - as above, my Grandfather's wristwatch
Benrus Military Plastic Case watch - given to me by my nephew who "found it on the beach"
Seiko Honda F1 Chronograph - given by the same nephew who surfs a lot and "found it on the beach"
Hamilton Railroad Special Pocket Watch - a "graduation" gift from Ken who taught me how to repair watches
Omega Seamaster with shell dial - a gift from Beverly for helping her after her husband's passing
Seiko dress watch - given to me by Joe, my favorite bike painter who I've known for 40 years

And a nod to KMII for using this Aerospace in his first post - I bought a watch like this from Yolanda, the first watch dealer sales person who broke my reserve and got me to spend many $$$ with her. Sadly it was lost on a flight to England, my first trip on the top deck of a 747. If you found it under your seat, it's mine! Anyway I got another one just like it as a gift to myself to remember my start in good watches.
Thanks for starting this memorable thread.
Mike
PS - I haven't included the many watches that show up in a basket on my porch, with a note pinned to it saying "If you can fix it keep it, otherwise toss it"
