not saying that the technique of Urushi laquer application is any less challenging but I thought perhaps if the white dial was enamel then perhaps so was the black dial version. Thanks for the clarification. Mike

I love the sector dials of the 30\'s and 40\'s, and this modern iteration was right up my alley. The dial can be polarising - its detractors feel it\'s not \'Calatrava\' enough - but I just love mine! ...

A Movado Datron. It\'s a very close remake of an original 40mm Datron, but without the Zenith movement to which Movado no longer has access. Even so, it was reasonably priced for people without unlimited funds, especially if one shops at a Movado Company ...

Here is 3940g-029. Fully on point: it\'s a new watch, but t assembled from "vintage" parts. The movement bears the Geneva Seal, not the PP seal. ...  

I went to Emory for Medical School...now in fellowship in Pennsylvania. But LOTS of fond memories of Atlanta, even tried to convince my wife to resettle there but no luck. I love that Zenith. They have been doing a lot of good things recently. Best, Mike
