That rotor looks so good. IMHO The whole thing turns around, not just the lower part, that makes it so different. Very cool watches these Sarpaneva K2 and K3. GEO
The rotor is fully skelletonized and Sarpaneva used 2 white gold masses at one end of the rotor, leaving a small gap in between. He also drilled a hole in the mainplate, right underneath the date window... and since the datewheel is a disc with hand cut n...
One of the many great memories from my years in Russia today; the investment actually doubled when I put a nice calf strap on it The "Flying tank" from Aviator on the wrist today. Have a good weekend! Regards Mark...
You are correct - it is an alarm watch. Crown at 4 o'clock is used for winding / setting the time, crown at 2 o'clock is used for winding / setting the alarm. regards Mark
i think Russian watches are very under rated the same as some of the better chinese brands. what does the alarm sound like in comparison to a Seiko bellmatic or JLC? best Graham
"Moving up, it's gonna race, it's gonna break through the borderline..." Wristshot(sorry for the lousy pic).... Love the classic DD song and this classic PSM Picadilly Serpent! HAGWE to ALL purists!...
not a very flattery picture with these corroded hands, still one of my fave pieces. Took me a long time to find the correct 7836 bracelet (from 1971)...
Ollech & Wajs were established in 1956 by Albert Wajs and Joseph Ollech. They mainly made divers and pilotwatches, not very expencive, but with relable robust movements. O&W closed down about 1980. In 1979 Albert Wajs bought 500 cases and parts from Willy...
. . . I was familiar with the brand, but my sense is that relatively few on TP/PPro had heard of them . . . your comments are much appreciated. Cordially, Art
. . . and in impeccable condition, too. I think you might have company from our East Coast today with another recently acquired vintage Longines . . . cordially, Art
Thanks Art, I have a short-list of vintage pieces I keep my eye out for, but this Longines was an unexpected find. It was an immediate attraction though when I got that tingly feeling that this was something I could enjoy. One of the nicest things about i...
Thanks LVT, I am very impressed with this. It is channelling some of the rawness in design of the early Journe tourbillons but is beautifully finished. You are going to have to show us many more photos of this. Thanks again! Andrew
. . . prior preferences, predilections, and prejudices get thrown out window! I've never been aesthetically drawn to Peter's work before, although I greatly admire his accomplishments, and I've never found this genre of design (let's call it the 'Breguet'...
I have also admired PSM’s work, but very few models/versions have actually sparked that feeling of wanting to own it one day. This tourbillon is in a whole other category. Still not certain about the crown, although it is an obvious signature for th...

i've always said that if i won the lottery anyone could give me a brand and i could name the 1 watch i would want to buy. this would be the lange for me. best Graham
Yup, it's confirmed, you're a bad influence to me! Now I couldn't stop thinking about this watch! That watch looks d**m cool on your wrist my friend! To be honest, when I first saw the pix, it didn't really strike me much, but I think it a watch which gro...
Nicolas, please pick this one up so I can live vicariously through you! I really enjoy this piece. Although, I prefer the WG version over the platinum (in pictures at least). This watch has a unique and marvelous dial. Love it! Cheers, Daos
