Stefan, i only made that...
Stefan, i only made that comment as i personally
have never seen a seamaster 600 with what essentially are 'dress dial' style
numerals and i've seen a lot of Omegas over the years. having said that, you
never know with Omega especially in the 50's -70's. it does seem that pretty
much anything goes in that period. even having seamaster 600 on the dial
confused many and allows the unscrupulous to misrepresent. i've seen one
particular UK seller who lies so well it sounds true sell it as 600m WR
divers watch. the problem is he waxes so lyrical that people believe him and he
gets superb prices on fleabay. i've been trying to get rid of him for years, but
cant.
i dont really know why Omega did it as most
people when seeing 600 or 30 on the dial would assume incorrectly that it was
the water resistance and not the movement calibre range. they didnt put
seamaster 565 on the dial so why did they feel the need to do it with the 600
and 30?
as for different case sizes, Omega did like to
produce a 'jumbo' model as well as a standard size model so that is probably the
main reason.
they are great looking watches with lovely
handwind movements which is the main object.
