Thanks Abel for a nice and thought-provoking theme this week! :-) Since "grail" has already been defined extensively (and in various interesting ways) by other friends in this thread...
..Let me also add my personal and very theoretical definition... My "grail" must:
1) Be created by my favorite watch brand;
2) Carry an iconic, 40+ year-old movement on one side and a masterpiece on the dial, authored by the most talented contemporary artists by combining the best rare handcraft techniques available;
3) Represent, on its marvelous dial, one of my favorite locations in my hometown in Italy, where I still enjoy countless evenings every summer along with friends and a good cocktail;
4) Be produced in a very limited edition, and miraculously allocated to me.
I know this is a dream that's almost impossible to realize, but just in case, let me add a few pictures of it

Grails
IMHO every piece I get is a grail. I never knew whether I can get it or not. (due to rarity or specific limited number or other reason). Most of all due to limited budget, I have to always ask myself, is it another true love or just passion and desire.
