While I have been wearing the Minerva TDMC continuously for the last 3 weeks, just to give you a break I have Connie on today. Still a special girl …...
i've been looking at piepan connies from that special year as my connie is a bit on the boring side, but i only seem to find gold or gold capped models which i dont want. i have enough gold dressy watches. one day i'll find one. lovely watch in lovely con...
... it has a simplicity and beauty that is compelling. It feels special every time I wear it, which is rare. Even the Breguet doesn't quite do that for me. Pleased you like it and I hope you find a '64 one day. Andrew
Super comfy, easy to tell the time (although some people expect the opposite) ... and soooooo beaitiful. My Sarpaneva Korona K1 is on my wrist almost every day of the week....
I now understand why you've been absent for awhile, Nicolas. While on holiday, you were starring in a new movie... The US release date has moved to 2010. Perhaps, to give Nicolas some time for re-shoots?! (key art image from Buzz Box) Just teasing, Nicola...
but what the heck, it was a long time ago and it was dark i think it was a lady anyway......................perhaps i'd already met the moderator best Graham
You won't believe me, but I forgot it in the safe, when I was doing my selection of watches to bring with me... When I arrived in Italy, I was searching it like a mad man, and the first thing I did when I came back to Paris was to be sure that it was in t...
… about leaving the stove on or a door unlocked. We worry about where we have left our watches! LOL. Luckily we have our wives to sort this stuff out! A
Hi Nicolas The tan is the result of a wide variety of straps. Just kidding. I am jealous because your strap tan is darker than my. I can't get that dark med tan because of the Irish blood. A+ Bill
What does this mean? Quite simple, I just had this "old" watch serviced which was my mum´s present to her fiance (my father) sometime in 1964 on the occasion of their engagement. As she told me, it was expensive for her in those days where she could not s...
the credit for the watch and flower shot goes to my wife and my kids! I asked them to take a nice photo while I was riding my moutainbike . But they will be happy you also like the photo like I do. The lovely wristshot is all mine, though , erm, erm. But ...
And a very nice watch! I salute you in your decision not to revamp the dial. Especially in a watch with so much family history, the patina becomes part of that story in my opinion. Long live sentimental value! nikolaj
As I admitted towards Daos, the flower and watch photo was taken by my wife (assisted by our daughters). Of course this is much nicer than my wristshot. Best, anaesdoc
It reminds me of the Patek campaign, with just the photos of the dad´s missing and the watches being much more affordable! I like the classic look of your father´s watch which obviously survived well to look like this nowadays. One of my concern...
1965 / 1966 but you never quite know if all matches. It would seem that the dial feet first was also present around that time. I will differ to the experts. I love the watch. Bill
… but like you I will defer to the Rolex Wizards for accurate information. I guess these 'Friday Threads' are more about watch appreciation than watch trivia, and I certalnly appreciate your offering. Thanks again, Bill! Andrew
First Monochromes lovely K1 and now this magnificent K3!! My heart cannot support this any longer... I of course love your watch too and wish you a great weekend and all that... but pleeeaase This message has been edited by nikolaj on 2009-08-28 02:25:52...
Found out that they are 44mm dia, which essentially means that the watch will radiate as a corona around my entire body... Still love the looks and style of this work of art.
a cheap Sea-gull 1963 military re edition chrono with display back. old pics. i havent been wearing my RT cricket nautical, but its been on my bedside table and wound every night. i've used the alarm every morning and it is enough to wake the dead. i must...
I actually like this a lot, Graham. Not sure about the length of the various hands, but the colours work. Have you got a picture of the movement through that display back? I don't recall seeing this before. Regards Andrew...
i do have a pic of the movement and the display back. it came with the military re issue stuff on the back, but i've since removed that to make it a plain display back. no pic of that i'm afraid. here you go....
This came out of the watchbox following the "guilloche" thread below (if you haven't read it, here it is click here : if you haven't contributed, why not??? ;-)). It hasn't gone back since. Cheers, pplater....
i didnt contribute kevin as all the guilloche on my dials has already been shown. my benzinger doesnt have a dial so no guilloche on that one. i als havent had time to go through all my pics to sort some nice ones out. lovely Benzinger BTW. i love the way...
