Trying to make a deal on it, unfortunately it was a cash deal (who carries that much currency???)
I was able to see that the dial is missing the rune SS which is part of the reason for a lower asking price,
but what was really interesting is that the rear of the case has two neatly created holes. It was mounted!
This was not a watch to be worn out in the fields and forests of Germany. It was clearly mounted on some
stationary location, which to me was very intriguing. The possibilities ran through my head that this was one
of the laboratory watches that with a proper paper trail from the Glashutte Museum, it might be possible to
determine where this watch went to after it was requisitioned. Germany took very detailed records.
