Dear Magnus,
I love the stories of men behind watches: it's one of the reason why I find this passion so intriguing, never boring.
I've ever thought about the story of Mr. Favre-Jacot and his Zenith Manufacture as one of the best and this feeling unavoidably strengthen after the factory visit organized by PuristSPro in 2014.
It was really a great emotion to visit the Manufacture, to breathe the pride and to touch the people's satisfaction in realizing such excellent products. It was also a great surprise to see how much close is the modern industrial complex in Le Locle compared to the one realized by Mr. Favre-Jacot himself.
Imagine how much responsibilities Mr. Magada feels every time he enters his offices! It mustn't be only a fact of "business" but also a fact of perpetuating a dream, a will, an idea.
Moreover, I'm intimately linked with Zenith because of the legacy with my grandparents, that in the fifties presented each other with a Zenith watch, and now both of them are in my possession.
All of the above observations have been caused by the watch you've written about, with your usual skills. The vibrating beauty of its back decoration makes me feel like seeing a movie, instead of a static object.
Maybe it's because of the exceptional work of the engraver, or because of the so many messages contained in a so tiny scene. The fact is that, to my eyes, this very special piece is far more than a work of art, it's a well-narrated emotional story.
Thank you, ciao,
Elio
