Great and informative report!
This is a highly inteesting development, and certainly a good decision to separate the chronograph mechanism completely from the base movement (reminds me of the old JLC hybrid chronograph with quartz base movement and mechanical chronograph module).
Just a small sidenote: COSC actually does activate the chronograph mechanism during the certification procedure, however on the tenth day only.
