As we all know in 1865 the clock maker George Favre-Jacot started to work for himself in Le Locle. What is even cooler is that Georges Favre-Jacot, revolutionized watch production by uniting all the watchmaking professions under one roof, thereby inventing the very concept of a Manufacture. Also in 1911 year of his retirement the Manufacture definitively adopts the name of Zenith.
Moreover in the very year of birth of El Primero movement (1969) the first chronograph in the world equipped with a winding crown with central rotor Zenith became member of MONDIA-ZENITH-MOVADO holding company….and now the spice…. in 1971 the American ZENITH RADIO CORPORATION took a majority stake in the MONDIA-ZENITH-MOVADO group….what a story…
As for name of this Defy model before nickname… name was just Defy ref A7652 if that was the question
