Zenith

Zenith has a very bumpy history and this ...

My poor cents:

When you compare Zenith with the other watch companies that were mentioned you need to consider that, IMHO, a watch needs a consistent history and Zenith has a very complex one.

Without going too far, people buys watches based on several factors and one of the most compelling one is the watch/company image.
Zenith, in the last 20-30 years had so many owners and took many directions. This confuses the market and, for sure, didn't help the overall image.
Add to that the former CEO Thierry Nataf and the image that he tried to build to Zenith. To make the things worst, the watches designed on Nataf era where, again IMHO, not of a good taste.

I believe that now Zenith seems to be on the proper track, borrowing designs from the past and pushing the wonderful El Primero to the place that it belongs.

I expect, and I'm seeing this with my watch friends, that Zenith is getting momentum and time will tell if Zenith will be a major player filling a position that Zenith deserves. Of course some advertising helps.

When this happens, we will see a sharp increase on the Zenith watches value and this, of course, will be translated to a price repositioning.

For the record: I'm back to Zenith with a simple, wonderful (I could add more adjectives) and, relatively low priced, El Primero Class.
I'm in love with this watch.

Cheers
