The angle of the jewel facing the escape wheel is clearly visible, even with the poor picture.
Basically, this isn't a good picture and people are making things up based on what they can't see well.
Where to draw the line though
Zoom 100x and you will see Himalayan peaks and challenger deep level of trenches, that's why personally I have never understood the obsession with finishing.
jewel has been put in wrongly in pallet fork-the round end should be in the fork-should of been picked up on test on timing machine

The lighting, angle and reflections in the original picture distort the view, and in my opinion, no conclusions should be drawn from that picture.
