I am sick of brands upsizing for no reason whatsoever
And I am sick of CEOs ruining their catalog by being completely out of touch. Why can't there be more CEOs like Vigneron or Dufour?
CEO Lionel a Marc’s appears to be more of a risk taker than we would like!
As a result, the initial test flights appear to have experienced extreme turbulence over the last week!🥂
A major missed opportunity by Breguet
Hopefully they will make minor tweaks in the designs… another famous brand, starting with ‘R’, actually made changes to maxi case design, case size and even length of hour/minute hands after much negative feedback from the watch community.
They may get it “wrong” at the first instance but there are always opportunities for refinement.
Watches are increasingly becoming emotional accessories instead of functional tool. I don’t need a date on my watch; my iPhone does that extremely well.
All I really wanna is a smile on my face whenever I admire the watch on my wrist. Not to tell time per se. And definitely not to remind me of the date.
I, too, anxiously waited for the release. But the upsized case was a big no, and then the date wheel killed it for me.
This CEO and design team really have lost touch with their true fan base.
A complete debacle in my opinion.

In all seriousness the watch is terrible, they should of put a moon phase somewhere in between these numerals and date, with Swiss made, and advertise it on Hodinkee, wait they already did it 🙄

I think Breguet is aware of the poor reception this has received. Their CEO has been making videos and giving interviews, which is probably damage control. WatchAdvisor states there will be a new model.

Now the question is didn't Breguet spoil the pleasure on this watch at the point that even if they release a no date version, it will be too late???

Climactic... I learned a new word. :))) Unless they go for a smaller case, and thinner, too... I fear it is a definitive and totally disappointing no go, for me. I will go for the vintage.
Smaller, thinner, & no date would be great & give people choices. The lack of detailed info on the movement is weird. A modern automatic chrono from the company formerly known as Lemania is something to be celebrated.
From what I read, a new movement with a vertical clutch chrono, silicon escapement and 60 hours power reserve.

What I find astonishing:
-there is plenty of place for the date or the „swiss made“ or both at 6!
-they did this before!!! It was nice, if you like a watch with a date (as e.g. me)

Yes very busy and the movement feels a touch small given how much space there is between registers and inner case dial side, but they work. The 42mm with the even larger numerals from maybe 2016 (feels much shorter) I actually quite like,
Also lets not forget the Type XXII, that was a monster of a watch, hard to see any heritage reflected in that version.
I simply don't understand the design at position 4-5.
I never like a date at position 4:30, but here it is really bad design! The 4 and the 5 are vertical. The number in the datewindow is angled downward left. The text "Swiss made" is angled downward right. Three angles of text/numbers in that cramped space. And then the numbers on the bezel in opposit direction....
