Breguet

I'm thinking of a 5207 in white gold. The retrograde seconds hand - is this a servicing problem waiting to happen? I'm generally wary of retrograding hands and it would seem, given the minute-by-minute action, that this could be an issue.

Thoughts?

BTW, I'd go for a 5177 but this is a vapor-ware watch!

but it is based on an F. Piguet movement that Blancpain has been selling with a retrograde second for several years.  Assuming the modifications are similar, I'd expect to be a pretty refined complication

with the retrograde seconds hand and it "bounces" perfectly. I had the same worry at first.. all that rapid movement, something has to go wrong. But it hasn't with mine ... yet.

Haven't seen an Auto Tradition, seems like a very special watch with the traditionally-shaped oscillating weight.

I have owned a WG 5207 for 3 years, and I have never had a problem.  But as an amusing side note, last year I stopped at the Breguet Boutique in Beverly Hills.  The manager told me that he had sold a 5207 to a star who came back with the watch after a week complaining it was broken.  The "problem" was the seconds would move to the right, and instead of completing the circle like his Patek Calatrava, it would suddenly spring back to the left.  The manager told me it took him about 10 minutes to convince the star that this is how the watch is supposed to work.  Anyway, my 5207 keeps perfect time and has a beautiful finish.  I hope you have as much enjoyment should you purchase one.

Funny story, I can imagine that happening as it is a rare complication.
