We all know how exquisite Lange's movements are, they are the best in the business.
However, IMO, what often gets overlooked is the dial side, especially on the 1815 range. I believe it is because these pictures are hard to take, and unless you have held one in the flesh, you wouldn't understand the dial side of the 1815.
So what on the dial side am I referring to exactly?
1. The painted numerals. These are not painted numerals in the traditional sense, they are actually like a 3D painted block. They rise from the dial. They are a beautiful font and color, and the 3D effect means that light can shine nicely on it, showing the numerals off more.
2. The depth of the dial. Most photos don't really show this depth. There are actually 3 levels. The subdials, the main dial, and the beautiful angled outer ring of the dial.
All of which meant that when I held an 1815 for the first time in my hands, I was blown away by how simple, yet striking the dial works out. Just classy
It is a fantastic watch, and retains a serious look.
