Great shots of a beautiful movement.
I find it interesting and impressive that Lange continually updates movements but always keeps the same movement number. Your shots are of the original movement, later pieces (also upgraded on serviced pieces) had a development of the regulating system to make adjustment easier and recent pieces had a big update to remove the preload on the minutes disc (which isn’t a service upgrade option on earlier pieces).

I am very interested in the ALS Zeitwerk.
I prefer the simple version black dial to the Zeitwerk date even if the movement of the Zeitwerk date is much improved.
So - if possible - I would like a most updated movement of the „simple version“ where for example the preload on the minutes disc is removed. How can I be sure that these improvements are made already if for example I search at C24 for this model?

Me too! I had the opportunity to try on the Zeitwerk date a little over a year ago and prefer the time only version.

But I would prefer the better movement of the Date version. Especially the longer power reserve.

I wouldn’t say “a lot” but it definitely has some heft to it when you wind it. It has a lively feeling.

I really love to add a ZW someday. It’s such an icon family of the brand with its distinctive looks.
One thing that holds me back is the 36hr PR and like wearing a hockey puck....I know the new ZW date is 72hr.
This original ZW is discontinued and I think they will all upgrade to 72hr movements, just like Dato and 1815 Chronos

Yes, thick and heavy it is. As for the power reserve , you are right. 36 hours is too short. But it gives you a good reason to wind your watch, which is always a pleasant experience.
