Not comprehensive, but indeed there´s a nice variety to make for a (sub-) collection in it´s own:



Particularly the Langematik, Saxonia and 1815 models, as these won´t be available too long!
And i´m somewhat confident the 1815 range is a future collectible, so it´s one more reason

The blue dials used to be available for WG models and in fact the 1815 Up&Down ref. 221.027 does not have a black dial.
But it´s hard to tell, so it seemed to fit
Personally i found the dark blue dials to be quite stunning and an interesting alternative!

Frankly, i have NO idea how long these used to be available (but guess that´s been available all over the production time of the 1815 range).

. . .  available?   I  wasn't aware of a blue dial, either . . . I suspect they go back a rather long ways, because I'm pretty familiar with L & S over the last several years.   I don't think I've ever seen one on the forum, and I know I've never seen one in the metal.  Very intriguing . . . cordially, Art

i´d guess the Up&Down may look a bit like Steve´s blue dial beauty:

As it seems, the WG/blue dial models were discontinued towards 2005; such may limit the quantity, as a majority of Lange´s portfolio reportedly is crafted in Pt and not that many in WG.
There´s a slight suspect who may have one in stock here in Germany, so i´ll try to check if it´s possible to add some "real life" pictures (apart from the catalogue scans).

And yes, it´s a really nice watch!

It´s a wonderful watch!

Something easily buried under high contrast is the fine texture; not just this, but all Lange dials come with a very fine finish.
It´s so much more beautiful in your great pictures!

but blue doesn´t count for me and I am not happy with a white big date on a black dial.

no Dato for me. As far as I love the movement I can´t get used to the white big date on a black dial. Especially on the Dato I miss the "0" for nine days a month ;-)  To my eyes the dial tips over.

Sorry Edwin, it´s just my "bad taste". As you know I would prefer the 1815 Chronograph in white metal with black dial.
