A. Lange & Söhne

I was recently offered by my AD Lange Cabaret Tourbillon in PT since he is allocated one piece for it. I am still reluctant to take the watch because I am not that familiar with this new movement and I already have one Toubillion watch for now.

Secondly< it is very expensive and  I don"t know if it could retain its value (like turbograph) in secondary market, unlike Patek. My Lange collections are only TZ and Dato which I find very nice and pricing is quite reasonable.

Any suggestion from you?

And just consider the following factor:
Do you are simply crazy about this watch?
Does the refinement of a Tourbillon speak THAT much to you that you'll be ready to pay such an important price?
If the answer is YES, go on it!
If not, or if you have some doubts, don't do it.
There are a lot of Tourbillons on the market which are very appealing, too, and in house manufactured.

and as I have mentioned in my other posts, Lange and Patek are my favourite. I already have Patek 5101 so buying another tourbillon with rectangular case that cost almost as much as 5101 is a bit worrysome, unless it can retain its value>

What do you think?

 

 

The PP 5101, I don't see the interest to have another Tourbillon, even if it's equipped with a Stop Second...
Or, go to another kind of Tourbillon, The Freak...This last one will bring something to your collection, but I doubt it will do it with the Lange
Cabaret Tourbillon...

its value as you seem to be quite concerned with that, would you go for it?

Gut feel based on your query is that this purchase is not entirely fueled by emotion and to go for a SECOND rectangular-cased tourbillon, without being fueled by an UNcontrollable watch lust IMHO is a sure fire recipe to add another piece to the hypothetical watch bin soon in a relatively short period of time. Quite an expensive way to go about it, finances notwithstanding. Perhaps direct your attention towards something else which stirs your pot more?

was offered to me in white gold, but like I mentioned before, I am a Lange and Patek kind of guy, so this watch doesn't attract me at all.  Certainly it cost a fraction of the Cabaret.

But you know what< everytime I see Lange watches, the movement never stops to amaze me.

Which is why I am so confused. If you were me, would u buy the Cabaret Toubillon or the kidney shaped Lange Tourbillion?

Are you pertaining to the kidney shaped/Lange One Tourbillon launched sometime ago? That is a nice one to get, much better IMHO than the Cabaret Tourby ONLY because it seems redundant to have TWO rectangular cased watches housing tourbillons albeit both from such formidable watch houses.

As Nicolas mentioned below, if you are quite keen to get a Lange tourbillon, perhaps choose between the PLM via auction OR get in line for the Tourbograph. For the latter, a LONG wait will be in line for the NEXT batch/metal. I understand that all PT/first batch Tourbographs have been spoken for and awaiting finishing up production on those before being shipped to their happy fortunate owners.

You know the brand, you know the Lange's quality, you know what you will get with this watch.

Nobody is able to tell you the future value of the watch but you know, you have to consider that the Cabaret Tourbillon is the first Lange Tourbillon which is NOT a limited issue.

The watch is nice with great finishings.

But I still prefer the PLM :



You have to be 100% convinced to spend this amount of money. It's your money and I can't tell you more, it's up to you.
