These images were sent to me by someone who fears for the mental state of the owner. Who needs 4 Datographs? AND a Double-Split?

I can only shake my head in disbelief.

for the VERY appropriate heading for this guy. Can't imagine someone this crazy to do this. Well, if this doesn't qualify for the World's Biggest Dato Nut, then I don't know what does. Lange should at the very least, send this guy an award or something, at least a Datograph cake or tee-shirt LOL...

Kudos to this collector however. It takes some guts, a certain amount of oomph to do something this crazy. Must be a timing freak... Talk about OC

don´t likes the watches. Just my impression if I look at the "unambitious" pictures.

At least I would expect some "more emotional"  pictures if somebody spends that much money in one theme.

It is possibly to love watches and not be a semi Pro photographer...

Even if all the brilliant pictures in all the forums seem to prove otherwise;-)

I just really would like to see some more "emotional" pictures of treasures like this. No matter if the photography skills are perfect or not.

Does the owner just collect the watches we saw? Is it maybe just a small insight? ...? When and why did he fall in love? ...?

To get conferred the title of Dato (Datuk) once is hard enough. This guy has 6 Datuk titles?!!!

Women do this with shoes or handbags.    They want to own their favorites in every color and permuation, and can always find an explaination of how this year's version is not the same as last year's.    That money (admittedly much less) is essentially thrown away.   At least the watches will hold their value.

they've all quite well used. But he's not that OCD, the Dufour Dato (pink gold black dial) looks like it has a non-lange strap.

I'd feel fortunate enough if I could have only one...

Well,i have met quite a number of collectors have the same taste as your friend collector.I often describe them as .....BMW M5 its a nice car but when these fellows are in the strike they will buy a unit in White(colour trend lately),a unit in black(colour for the night),a unit in silver(that's the signature colour) and a sepang bronze(the latest colour).So you ended up with 4 M5s in your garage.LOLOLO.....

Just something to share,its own preference anyway do it as long as it makes you happy.

the esteemed collector is obviously putting his money into serious collectible assets in one of the most respectable comtemporary horological pieces. I guess the collector must have undergone several rounds of "collector's life-cycles" to rationalise that all else (with due respect to all other brands and crafts) pale in comparison. Fortunately or unfortunately?

I can confirm that he is not crazy but truely a great gentleman.

its a free society and he likes the Datograph. madness is subjective. to me he seems perfectly rational in his purchases, but to a non purist he would appear to be deranged.
