more about the House of Lange.Truly amazed at the amount of painstaking hours of dedicated craftsmanship that goes into each of their watches.

these are the types of event one must go to. You learn so much about a manufacturer in such a short period of time and it gives you an insight into their philosophy no amount of reading material or marketing will provide. It also makes you appreciate what you have on your wrist more and value it not in terms of dollars and cents but in the amount of love, dedication, passion and hours of artistic craftsmanship that went into giving it life( mechanically speaking).
Thanks for looking.
Fernando
Because i'm invited to almost all of them! One of my most memorable was still the House of Lange event here in Tokyo last October!
It was indeed wonderful to have a look at some wonderful pieces (this was where i 1st held the Lange 31), and tried hands on with engraving, polishing and assembling! At the end of the day you even got to take home some Lange 1 chocolates( which as a pun,had the normal "expiration date" for foods represented as the "power reserve of 2 weeks" Hahahaha) a certificate with the photos of you and the 3 watchmakers at their respective "stations" and their signature, and even a Lange watch maker's coat with the event details embroidered into it!
And i cannot agree more with you, that no matter how much one's passion is for watches, if he or she just reads from books/magazines, and see photos only on the internet and other media, one cannot fully experience the world of haute horlogerie to the max!
Well, if time permits, and if i'm invited to other events in other countries, i do would love to attend them all!
Speaking of which, i already have a Breguet event coming up this sunday here at the Nicolas G. Hayek centre in Tokyo!
Cheers
Stephen
your excitement with Lange watches, especially some of the out of production LE watches such as your wonderful anniversary piece with the lovely enamel dial. They are amazing works of art!
The new PT. Grand Lange 1 speaks to me loudly and it will probably be next on my hit list.
Best

The Tourbillon is magnificent.
Fernando,
Thanks very much for the photo report on the House of Lange.

and so appropriate for the House of Lange to hold this presentation. I forgot to take a shot of the actual bldg. which goes back to the colonial era and is so well preserved. The skylight effect which brings in so much natural lighting is probably a recent addition.
The three masters are in a league of their own with good humour to add.
Cheers

The repeated reject from Maik during my session can only assure me of the painstaking process that's gone into the making of my piece. That was easily the most difficult session of the three, for me!
