Hi all,
Here's a quick first impression of my NOS Langematik date. As you already know, this is a discontinued model and probably one of the least popular amongst Langes, for various reasons. I have been wearing it for the past couple of days and this is what I think: at 37mm. it's considered small by todays standards but on my wrist it did not feel disproportionately undersized (6.5' wrist) and feels incredibly comfortable. I especially like the density and heft of platinum in a compact casing.Perversely, I'm really enjoying it because of its size.
Ok , it's also an automatic with IMO a beautifully finished mini rotor and movement to match which sits perfectly in the casing, with no frivilous real estate in between.I have nothing against autos and at times prefer it to manual wind; depending on the watch. So this didn't put me off it one bit and after two days it's also eerily accurate.
The big date at 12, I think suits this watch to the bone and gives it symmetry, a point of focus and instantly recognizable as pure Lange DNA.The dial overall is very stealth and I like the way light plays with its greyish tones. The seconds counter at six is well proportioned, with the blue hand livening up the watch.
If I had to nit pick, then, as others have mentioned, the sax-o-mat wording at four is tastefully questionable but luckily it's hardly noticeable and quite discreet when wearing the watch.Only upon magnification and in photos does this wording become obvious and noticeable.
So far it's been a pleasure to own and I have a feeling that this will be a keeper. Thanks for looking and here are some quick pics.( I really wish I could improve on my photographic skills
).

P.S. The quick date pusher is so convenient to use.

Though, I don't think your wrist is 6.5' LOL You mean: 6.5" or 16.5 cm.

for your comments and I totally agree with your assessment of this watch. It is indeed understated and would most times fly under the radar. Surprisingly, I have had two persons complimenting it, which is quite astonishing as it almost never happens to me.
Thanks for showing your black beauty and yes the lume is so subtil.

you were going for it too! It was a good catch from a great seller as I found out. My apologies. The anniversary will not be easy but who knows? Maybe we can trade, LOL?

))I guess I'll have to keep it safe and well maintained. Next time I'm in Paris we'll have to meet up and have a couple of bottles of your lovely French wine and who knows what sort of trade we'll do.LOL.

No better place to celebrate and give a toast to Lange watches.
Thanks Oliver!
Yes, the black dial is stunning and yet so wearable and discreet. As Nicolas just stated there's more to Lange than just the iconic and popular models. Maybe it's not to late to hunt for one.

The Richard Lange is my dreamwatch.before I read your post I had a look at the picture and I did notice the pusher and the sax-o-mat wording was diagonally opposite each other and it didn't seem so out of place after all.So, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
