I am looking for a Platinum Lange 1 with Grey Dial (not silver).  I love the grey dial that is on the white gold version, but I want a platinum Lange 1.

Please let me know if they make this version and if not, can one be made for me specifically?

The grey dial happens to be my favorite Lange 1 variation as well. Unless I'm missing a special edition, Lange doesn't make a Lange 1 with the grey dial variation in platinum. Honestly, I wouldn't have any problem buying it in WG gold as that metal color looks practically the same as platinum. Aside from that you'll save a bunch of money!

but I've owned the exact watch you are talking about and it is a stunning piece.

request the change of dial when you next service the watch. Or if you are lucky you can request the change right away if they have stock of the dial locally. I think Lange entertains these dial changes if it's a 'step down' request, meaning you can have the WG dial on platinum watch but not the other way round. Be prepared to pay a few thousand for this customization though and might affect resale.

I know better, because I have seen some changes done to an existing model before here in Tokyo...

If you are someone whom Lange deems is important enough, they will do almost anything for you.
