thanks for the reminder Nico
This Minerva is gorgeous !!!
I have a feeling the calibre 13.21 will be used more for smaller wrists
On the other hand I wish MB comes up with some new Minerva movements - chrono or time only etc for the more accessible non Villeret collections such as the 1858. Reusing the 13.21s or 16.29s too much in too many re-editions may dilute these exclusive calibres. Eg the recent bronze edition 1858 Tachymeter is another LE 100 after the Blue dial steel and black dial rose gold so a total of 300 1858 Tachymeters with calibre 16.29. This plus the previous emamel dial versions in LE 58 (the vintage Telemeter Andrew has), LE 8, 58 and 1 in two iterations in the 47mm hunter back series (1 iteration in enamel and one not in enamel) mean there are around 500 watches with the calibre 16.29 now I think.
I remember reading the earlier Mb Villeret stance was for each Villeret calibre to be limited in production to only 288 pieces in some predefined lots of 1,8 and 58 with some spares for bespoke pieces. Seems Montblanc has done away with that rule already with 300 pieces of the calibre 16.29 for the 1858 Tachymeters alone (steel, rose gold and bronze)
A tad too many to milk existing calibres ?
Cheers
