Just had the chance to try the Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Bronzo..what do you think ? is not a small watch but thats to the combination of titanium and bronze is pretty light, seems lighter
than the Tudor bronze! Of course the price is different so I am thinking! Recent posts by MichaelC not so encouraging so I welcome some opinions on this piece

I tried it at the last SIHH. Even if I prefer the steel version with its blue dial, there's something I really love with this version.
The fact that Montblanc used a specific colour for the mouvement (bridges and bottom plate) which is perfectly in tune with the case, dial and strap in my opinion.
If you love "warm" watches, this one is made for you.

The colour combination somehow doesn't work for me with that version. Other than that a really nice watch.
I think the answer is on the back of the watch...
Nice combination, just not sure what happens if it turns green, hopefully it doesn't affect the inside.
Otherwise, looks great.

Depends what colour the bronze goes, if it just darkens then I think this will be a real classic, that dial will look fantastic with a dark case. Obviously this depends on where the watch lives and the owners wearing habits etc, at least as far as I understand it.
If you like warm watches...
This is an absolute gem. And Montblanc have also sweated the details to make it right for the years to come - i.e. the parts in contact with the skin are bronze tinted titanium for allergy reasons on the one hand and to keep discolouration more sensible. Matching movement colour scheme to the case is also something one will not do at the Tudor price level but that is well within the reach here - showing MB did not just go for the easy buck.

Christian, my love for the watch itself remains high.
It is quite unfortunate what I have gone through on the service side, but if you get a good one that does not break, then you have one of the best watches going.
The real pity is the lost opportunity by Montblanc. A strong service experience encourages and owner to be fully at ease and confident, and consider more options from the brand. My experience instead forces me to contemplate selling the watch, even if returned in proper order.
But I wish you the very best with an 1858 if you get one.
I personally prefer the Steel Blue. Now, if I could get the rose gold plated movement of the Bronze, I would be in heaven. [nt]
