... I was a very young lad of around 15 o 16 years old when the "Beatlemania" shocked my Country not much later than in Europe and USA in the mid 1960's.
I was interested in many things lads were interested in on those far years, beyond chasing girls of course: Highschool, the Moon conquest race, the launching of the Ford Mustang, sport SCUBA diving, and dreaming of owning my first Rolex Submariner (a 5513 gilt, which arrived in 1966)
I must confess I was not very fond of Beatles in the first place but little by little the new music was growing on me. A Little later I was a real fan of them, and keep liking most of their music.
Now, many decades later I feel their songs are connected with many episodes of my life, and bring me many fond memories to my mind. The 1960' s and 1970's were turbulent and changing times, but somehow it was a World much more innocent and less sophisticated than today (far from personal computers, tablets or móvil pones) but full of charm anyway.
The list of The Beatles songs is very long as we all know, but I have a few favorites among them: Yesterday, And I love You, Michelle, Please please me, Let it be, Something and The Long and Winding Road are among the ones I like best.
The 1960' s and 1970's were years of adventure, exploration and discovery both in mountains, underwater, sky and space. This the development of watches which today we connect with those activities: Rolex Submariner and Explorer, JLC Deep Sea and Geophysic, Omega Seamaster 300 and Speedmaster, are just of the few timepieces chosen.
I am showing a couple of recently arrived watches which together with the Beatles music connect my mind and soul with those far years of my youth:
Have a nice week end Art and all our friends here at PuristS!!
