We had a wonderful edition of WS this weekend with many entries answering to the great Theme brought for our Host Captain Scarlet. Thank you to all participants for their enthusiastic answers and to Captain Scarlet for his great job hosting.

Now the winners:

Third place for Brauner and his stylish elegant G.P. Square case and black dial surrounded by colorful ties. Beautiful shot!

Second place for KMII showing his grey G Shock Casi Oak in a symphony of greys with an elegant suit and tie as background. Well done!

First place for Stoikos sharing his magnificent Sea Dweller "Red" 50th Anniversary displayed on a white tuxedo jacket and Nato in an homage to our beloved Secret Agent 007 in Goldfinger opening scene. No doubt Connery was a cool guy who knew how to add style and class to the character. A true icon!

1st Place Stoikos

Hello dear friends,

What an interesting edition of WristScan. We certainly had some great photos posted. My sincere thanks to everyone that posted and joined us. 

Making the final cut this weekend…. 

Hans, with his vintage Omega and Bentley combo …

Stoikos, with the impressive display of his Sub, I love this shot … 

Geo, the Must de Cartier, so cool  …

Bobbie, Cartier Tank, great shot  … 

MJ23, almost took the top spot with this beautiful PSM …

HSTE, came so close with “Karl” … 

But ultimately this watch was chosen with passion, connecting him with the past. Cookies has just received this Omega and his icon of considerable style was Pierce Brosnan, Mr 007 !

Congratulations Cookies ! 

. . . damn near impossible.  More worthy wrist shots than I can shake a cue stick at.

There were outstanding wrist shots from a traditional standpoint.

. . . K's Raketa . . .

. . . Geo's Cartier . . .

. . . Watchonthewrist's DR . . .

. . . and Bobbe's Cartier . . .

. . . are all candidates on technical, aesthetic, or compositional grounds. 

Then there were submissions that hewed to Captain's theme.  HSTE fared well here . . .

. . . but Abel just killed this approach with several aces. 

Our Captain led the way with this portrait . . .

. . . which eerily mirrors a photo I took of Buzz seven years ago.

Then there was the personal style approach championed by jporos.

Yours truly was surprised learning of Bond's first watch.

Shemmir's submission was a bombshell.  I would've bet Bond's first was a Sub - I'd no idea it was a Gruen.

There were sentimental favorites from Cookies . . .

. . . and terbaboom, both of which . . .

. . . had a shot at the top spot; terbaboom's thematic composition was especially compelling.

But who can argue with a parrot?

I loved this shot!  Orange Seiko meets orange beaks from the most stylish member of the animal kingdom - way cool.  Not to mention difficult to capture.

So first to orangedial for his parrot-approved wristshot, followed by shemmir's Gruen for second on heuristic merit and Watchonthewrist's DR for third on technical and aesthetic grounds.
