My choices for this weekend…

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-13:28
This one has been on my wrist since its arrival to my collection past Friday and still wearing today:

I will change this afternoon for an under the radar timepiece as I have an appointment in a not so secure part of my city:
(Spring has arrived to our part of the world)

An Speedmaster is waiting for my Saturday…

And my Tudor BB first series (red bezel) for our classic Sunday “asado” !

Have a wonderful weekend my dear watch loving friends!!
Cheers!
Abel

Hello, my dear friend - here we go under your helm !

 By: hs111 : September 22nd, 2023-13:53
And BTW, Thx for again clarifying the frame conditions for submission - really a nice idea !

I do like all your shots but the first two even more ! - That James Bond Seamaster really is a special one, 1000 ft depth rating you might not really need but it’s one hallmark for that piece; also like the bracelet, the dial & the skeletonized hands ! 👍😊

- The Hamilton-shot is quite special, IMO - lovely pink reflections there and one of your signature Speedies amidst the colored glasses produces a nifty „atmosphere“ - well done, dear Abel !!

- Thx for hosting this week‘s WS-edition; I will come back with some of my picks & I do hope you‘ll like those as well..

HAGWE & Best with kind regards !
😊😊

Hello dear friend HS!! Thanks a lot for your always so kind viewing and comments on my posts. I´m happy to liked you like my choices...

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-14:19
... for my weekend.

Just four watches will do for today and the weekend as you can see. Lol! By the other hand I´m trying to make the job easier for our kind volunteer judges! Lol!

You are right about the "Extra" depth rating of modern diving watches. Guess nobody will put them to test, even pro divers but it is nice to have it and a demonstration of the high level of technical achievement of makers.

I look forward to your own choices later and I´m sure I will like them so much.

See you later dear friend and enjoy your weekend! Best, Abel

My wife ❤️ the flowers.

 By: enjoythemusic : September 22nd, 2023-17:09

Thanks a lot to you and your wife! Glad she likes them. Here they are known as "rayitos de sol" (little sun rays) and they open during day and close at night. They are short lived though as they are gone...

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-19:08
... after just a several weeks... till next Spring.
I like them so much too and make a nice background for many of my watch shots.
Cheers! Abel

Looking like a fantastic weekend Abel!

Congratulations on your latest incoming 🎉🎈
Great shots all around! Speaking about parts of town - will have a brief jaunt to Paris next week and have been warned about anything conspicuous. Seems the days when one could have breakfast with the Vlad at one of the outdoor cafes and dozens of watches on the table are gone? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you so much for your kind comments dear friend KM. I´m enjoying so much my recently arrived SM Bond 60th Anniversary. Regarding Paris...

 By: Subexplorer : September 24th, 2023-19:46
... I have also been reading that the safety in many big European cities in regards with watches is getting very concerning.

I hope this will not deprive us of the pleasure of meeting our good Vladesque friend and enjoy one of his gtg with friends. I presume not outside the cafe premises of course but indoors in a more private sector. I´m sure he can make some suggestions about this matter before your trip.

My last visit to Paris was in 2014. I´m really missing and the possibility of meeting Nicolas again is a highlight of my plans for my future visit.

Enjoy your stay in Paris so much and take care dear friend.
Best, Abel

Hi Abel.

All great choices for the weekend! I love the Speedy - an absolute classic. I’m always astounded by the accuracy of these modern Omega movements. Omega really landed a great deal when they purchased the rights to the Coaxial movement from George Daniels.

Thank you so much Timeout for your kind comments on my choices. Agree with you on your thoughts of new Omega movements. Have a nice Sunday! Abel

Hmmhh.. Let me see what to chip in to play

😉
Team,
- six shots, quite a number (yet still limited) and I like Abel‘s idea to try to zoom in and focus on just roughly a handful of pics to display some picks from our stables..

Hence, here we go, in no specific order, just
possible or actual Weekend choices..

Leisure Memovox greetings (E872) from the 70ies, a true daily beater

One of this year’s summerly shots ( Pepsi 116750/ Tritium dial)

A robust companion: PAM 1074 Submersible Bronzo/ Titanium backside..

2 GMT Masters/ Pepsis: Vintage 116750 (left), 126510 BLRO current model (on Jubile) - the tides of time..

A glance into the Memovox box: Black Knight - E855,
a true classic - nice choice to go out on the WE

My loved trustworthy Milgauss GV (glasse verte): Always have to smile looking on her, a cheerful dial, a bit hilarious, IMHO

Hello dear friend HS! Thank you so much for sharing your possible choices for the weekend. All delicious timepieces (as delicious as that chocolate bar in your first shot! ;) )

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-15:57
I love that vintage and very 70´s "TV" JLC. Would you believe I own one too? Lol! Yes, horological twins we are!!

A GMT is always a great choice of course. Be it a vintage one or the modern ceramic you never go wrong with a Rolex GMT!

Another nice choice the Bronzo Pam which by the way can be a great conversation starter for sure.

The Black Kinght dial JLC Alarm is a serious piece of collection which I admire. I got several examples of this classic but regrettably no one with such a black dial and strong personality.

The Milgauss is a strong competition for a colorful and enjoyable watch for your weekend.

Enjoy a wonderful and relaxed weekend dear friend!
Best, Abel

Thx so much dear Abel for your again kind looking &..

 By: hs111 : September 22nd, 2023-16:18
.. your nice comments.
Interesting, that you also got such a JLC MMV; is it the E872
as in my example (rectangular) or rather the „real“ TV-screen, the E871, more square ?

- likewise I find it interesting, that you also apparently -
as you describe - have several other Memovoxes (E855-? or E875) in your stables !
- Didn‘t realize you also have or had a  collection focus
in JLC Vintages. Nice !!
- Congrats to these achievements !! 👌

Yes, as we had said it before, „horological twins“, sort of,
although your main areas seem to be Rolex and
even more specifically your great Omegas, where you really own several marvels !

Anyway, maybe some future day, we might have the option
to see us in person..

Continue to wear your treasures in the very
Best of your health !!
All the best again, Cheers !!
😊😊

Hello again dear HS! Thank you for these kind comments which I always appreciate so much. Yes, though my collection main interest focus around Rolex, Omega and Panerai brands...

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-18:54
... I also have discovered other brands which are very attractive for my personal taste as you see in my posts. A very eclectic collection I feel in spite my efforts in concentrate in the above brands.

I will post someday my JLC Alarms. And will post here of my TV one. I´m not very familiar with their different variants though.

I also wish that a personal meeting will be possible some day soon. I´m sure we will enjoy some interesting conversation and an opportunity I will always treasure.

Thank you for your good wishes my friend. All the best, Abel

PS: couldn’t find a better shot in my HD but it gives you sn idea of the TV one I own.

Thx for the comments !.. Regarding your JLC Memovox - just for your info:

 By: hs111 : September 23rd, 2023-07:43
Yes, it is the so called „TV-screen“ with the Ref. E871,
a child from the 70ies; In fact it is exactly the one I own.
- Twins again,we are -  Lol !!  😊😊
They also come in orange sometimes..

Best, my friend & enjoy your great collection !

Thank you so much for the clarification dear friend HS. Took note of the exact reference number of "our" version. Glad to know we can add another piece to the list...

 By: Subexplorer : September 23rd, 2023-12:54
... of our shared watches. Yes! Twins again! Lol!
I surely would like to find the orange to add to my collection. You know: "greedy Abel" Lol!
Best cordial regards, Abel

Further to my previous comment.. A little addendum..

 By: hs111 : September 23rd, 2023-09:00
.. JLC E871 variants, other than the light-blue, which we both own:
Indeed, it came in brown/orange, dark blue with white minuterie and definitely also in silver/white.
I found that picture from a long thread, back in 2014, which only dealt with JLC MMV‘s, where a number of us (Blomman, Nico, Clavi, Stefan ma to name some) contributed to what became a great long thread about Memovoxes of that period.

- Here a sample on top of a catalogue of the 70ies ( don’t recall the exact year); if I remember correctly it was from Blomman; here for your info, just 3 variants, whereby personally I find the dark blue and the brown-orange most attractive..

Here you have 3 E871 just to illustrate my point and part of the variety. Sometimes a glance back can be quite rewarding.. Best again, 😊

Thank you so much for this additional info dear HS! Yes, it is always rewarding to check old posts. This model has an special charm and such a big 70´s flavor!

You are full of surprises indeed 👏🏻👌🏻🙌🏻

Ha ha ha!! Thank you dear KM!

 By: Subexplorer : September 24th, 2023-19:38

That mountain Pepsi shot is out of this world!

 By: KMII : September 24th, 2023-09:21
And I have always had a weakness for the shaped Memovoxes from that era 👌🏻👍🏻

Thx for your kind looking & the nice comments !.. Glad you liked the surroundings ! 😊😊

 By: hs111 : September 24th, 2023-11:54

Great choices HS!

 By: Timeout : September 24th, 2023-13:42
Plenty of examples of “taking the road less travelled here”. I really love the Milgauss. I should consider one myself as I seem to be magnetizing my watches with alarming regularity recently 😳

Thx for your kind looking & the nice comment !

 By: hs111 : September 24th, 2023-13:57
Cheers !!  😊😊

But... ummm... am known to make some VERY bad choices during weekends ;-)

 By: enjoythemusic : September 22nd, 2023-15:17
As seen below, am more interested in Larry our Lanai Lizard, as he is more interested in me.

That´s absolutely not a BAD choice Enjoythemusic! The GMT Everose is such a beautiful and impressive timepiece. Even cute Larry looks fascinated by its presence on your wrist!

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-16:10
I´m a big fan ot The Beatles and that album brings some nice memories from my long gone youth years. The Fool on the Hill one of my favorite songs.

I regret so much not being able to view them live in those years. I was just eighteen in 1967 and with no budget to make the trip to UK in those days though it certainly was my dream.

Thank you for this gift for my ears and for your entry my friend.

Hagwe! Abel

You have me blushing a bit. A most humble thanks... and as always... Enjoy the Music ❤️🎵

 By: enjoythemusic : September 22nd, 2023-16:18

Your watch deserves the praise enjoythemusic. Really stunning variant of the classic GMT. Keep enjoying and loving! Best, Abel

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-19:00

This watch right now. A BP evergreen😁

 By: hora12reborn : September 22nd, 2023-15:44

Hello hora12reborn! Sublime watch you choose. I die for those Breguet numerals on this classic watch. Beautiful handset as well which adds to its charm.

 By: Subexplorer : September 22nd, 2023-16:13
No need to make changes along the weekend with this beautiful timepiece on your wrist.
Hagwe, Abel
