I begun the year with two pieces which have been haunting my horological mind for some time:
A MAD 1 Red (which really is a very Mad timepiece I feel) which I found in a NOS condition…
And a WPS ABR 2008 which I thought never would be able to own but discovered through Bill’s post that a few NOS examples are still available here in our favorite Forum. This is a most unusual watch which is a joy to wear.
During mid year arrived this IWC ref IW 358.313 which I have ordered when it was launched in 2023. I have a soft spot for salmon dials and “white metal “ cases. The waiting was long but well worth the wait. I changed the original black straps with deployant for these more informal and sporty looking brown leather straps with buckle.

No, it’s the HF case.
CB cases were only made for the Speedmaster during 1966 though those cases were used to assemble the chronos during 1966 and 67 and perhaps 68 as well.
