Hi all It has been a week of late nights and early mornings.,..... I normally switch watches a few times during the week. Sad to say I have not swapped out this week at all...

I got this watch last Friday night and after a band swap.... its been on my wrist since....




Keeping time to within the min I set it last Friday.

I could not help to notice the relative poor shape the dial of your Longines is in.

The process of printing looks like a hand-made job and  'Conquest ' is spelled rather with Q than with G. Most Conquest models between '55 and '60 had yellow- or rose-gold indices, few had white-gold.

Slightly lower-end-of-the-market but identical models were named  'All Guard ' or simply  'Automatic ' that had steel indices and a black (or dark blue) sweeping second.  Their 19AS movements were equipped with 17 jewels, against 19 jewels for the Conquest models.

Your winding crown is 100% original; don't loose it because they are very scarce!

. . . I know the dial to be original as it was handed down from my Dad, who only had it serviced once in '65 before retiring it to dress duty when he acquired the '65 Seiko Sea Lion. The dial, crystal, and crown are original and in good condition, considering that it was his daily wear watch for the better part of ten years. The hands are original but suffered from corrosion, so I had them polished and rhodium plated. It keeps remarkably good time, and gets trotted out once a month or so . . . cordially, Art

i customised it...first all matte, then Diamond Like Carbon [ DLC ] coating, dial & handes from the whitegold Daytona version.

Servicing a Rolex or Panerai isn't difficult, go to a good watchmaker and he always can help you...

Neat thing about DLC coating is that it is removeble so it always can go into 'original' condition.
