Nice background and use of reflections to show the shape of the crystal, without distracting from the details of the face too much.

I have terrible difficulty mastering reflections.

. . . I find that hard to believe ;-) . . . your photos are beyond stellar, Nilo . . .

I normally use a DSLR with a 100mm macro lens and this setup, for sure, does not work for wrist pictures.

Recently I got a P&S Canon G11 and I'm starting on this type of pictures.

We need a watch photography 101 series on HoMe with the best photographers sharing their secrets.

I get better results with wristshots than static posed shots. I have said before, also, that I like the 'life' that a wristshot brings to a watch, so I guess I have played more with this sort of image. A P&S camera is definitely easier for a wristshot, but I have also found the best part of the garden (in shadow from tall fur trees) and the right time of the day (dusk or dawn) in which to take them.

Any of you men out there ever borrow your wife's / significant other's watch?

Photographing my better half's Stowa this week, I think I may borrow it, since she's traveling....

Think I'll take off the bracelet (which won't fit me) and put on a nice black strap.  Thanks to drilled lugs, this won't be difficult....

i only committed to it as it was #99, but i'm happy with it. this years model which isnt in production yet has a 2824 inside, but the dial is all black with only lume spots and lume around the edge of the hands. it will be far more phantom that this one so i might consider it, but the russian movement on this makes it interesting. putting a 2824 inside just makes it black albeit at very good value.

i know where there is a 1964 Tudor Sub that i would dearly like, but dear is the optimum word.

i have a system that stops me forgetting where i saw watches. if there is one i like i just put it in a folder on my internet favourites so i can find it later. every so often i go through them and delete the ones that are sold.

hopefully it will still be available when i have the money so i can join the vintage sub owners club.
