) and as far as the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
Oahu, that is. Love the boutique in Waikiki, and that area in general. There's a great sushi place not far from there, on the second floor, named Doraku
They have this great import Japanese Echigo beer, that I could not find anywhere in NYC except one place - and even there its sold in a miniature version and way overpriced.
If only I can be in Oahu more often than the total two times ive been there. Cheers.
Ginjikomi, Hitachino fall into the same category of limited and very tastey Japanese beers.
Ebisu is one of my favorites, and slightly more widely available, at least in the West Coast of USA.
Beer and Sake aficionados can tell the region they are produced in because of differences in style, ingredients, and yes, the water used.
Kinda like Scotch and wine...
Drop us a note when you ever get to LA, the local PuristS can show you around and maybe even introduce you to some local specialties.

and appreciate the quick Japanese beer tutorial
Would love to and appreciate it.
