I do have to say I prefer V.1 of the 303, the electric blue dial is fantastic.

Don't torture an already tortured soul LoooL , I would love to compare the 2, the oversized bezel is something that is very iconic of Bulgari watches, have to see it before I could say anything, but the contrast of the blue with the brassy tone of the numerals is fantastic.

the date window showing adjacent date. That just confuses the issue and is ugly.

I don't really  mind the window position change from 6 o'clock to 4:30 but the asymmetrical window upsets the form over function equation.

 

All the other changes are good: thinner case, narrower bezel, smaller BVLGARI font, added seconds sub-divisions on dial, new dial colours, the two-tone colour schemes etc

 

95% rating....could have been 100%.

between the 2. I like the balance of the Gen 1 but it fitted my wrist poorly. I suspect Gen 2 will fit better but the placement of the date just throws me off. It is so near and yet so far...

Try out the 2G when in town, and see if you like it.

For the 1G, the fitting, are you referring to the  distance from one end of the lug to the opposite lug?

is quite rounded and as such both sides of the lugs sit high and leave plenty of space in between. it just was not comfortable. Will check out G2 as suggested.

I kinda like the "Panda" piece although the RG version seems to be a lot cleaner looking. Perhaps if they had made the 12H a little smaller and placed the date window under the 12 or under the logo, that would've worked better for me.

A blue hand for the minute subdial for either version. too? It could work.

Placing the date window at 12H area, may be something Bulgari has thought of... relocating the brand-name is a challenge for a chronograph dial

Since the brand name already on the bezel, perhaps could remove the brand and only have the 'Calibro 303'.

Wonder if could open a date-window on the case-band at 8H ?

Hi everyone. I've been looking for a successor to my Panerai Daylight PAM196 for quite some time. Last week I finally took the plunge and purchased the Sincere Limited Edition (think 100 pieces made) version of the Diagono 303 and I have to say I love it!! I definitely prefer the thicker and more masculine bezel size on the original over the 2011 model. Although more chunky it still manages to retain a sense of luxury and elegance - especially when combined with a leather band. It really is akin to wearing a piece of art on your wrist, I find myself looking at it just to look at it even when I don't need to read the time. It also looks so different from different angles, revealing different little details to appreciate. With the famous FP 1185 movement at it's heart - it really is a fine timepiece both inside and out. Yeah – I’ve been eyeing up this watch for about a year ever since I moved to Singapore. I had a Panerai Daylight at that time but it had broken down and took forever to get repaired. During that time I realised that almost every other person in Singapore has a Panerai so that really put me off and I decided to look for a successor. I looked at all the usual suspects – AP, IWC, JLC etc. I just couldn’t find anything that I really liked. They all looked the same, quite boring and often quite ugly. Somehow I stumbled on this Bulgari watch and kinda fell in love with it. Although frowned on initially by friends the more we learnt about it, finding out it shared the same movement as the AP Royal Oak Chronograph etc, the more I wanted it and finally I did last week. As can be seen on the date window in the photo – I got it only last week, July 26th=) I’m really happy with it. How it looks combined with what movement it uses and it’s very rare limited run really make this watch a unique gem, which, in my opinion, puts many other names to shame. The Panerai is being passed onto my very grateful younger brother=D

The Diagono Calibro 303 has lots of work put into it and sad to say not many people realise it.  ( Not sure if you have viewed this page about the construction ).
The watch world over here is interesting  and it takes confidence to buy and wear a brand out of the 'usual suspects' Best part of the buying a watch is the hunting process and seemed like you (with another person? Younger brother? ) are enjoying it.
If you have a preference of chronograph, perhaps monochromatic and interesting design, check out the Bulgari X-Pro later.   Another stunner!

Yeah - that page on construction was one of the pages I found way back when I first started to research the Diagono Chrono 303. It lead me to learn about the FP 1185 Calibre movement and in turn lead me to discover some of the other fine time pieces that feature it.

I agree, a lot of people frown when I mention Bulgari. I was quite ignorant when I first purchased my old Panerai in 2006. Little did I know but it featured a simple Valjoux 7753 movement like many watches from so called 'real' watch companies (it doesn't help that watch companies hide this by renaming the movements). I suspect many people are in the same boat and simply do not know what is inside their watches but go on the perceived reputation of the company, which is clearly a mistake. When I explain this, people are usually a lot more respectful of my choice. And as you said, the choice is unique, it shows personality and confidence. I've never been one to follow the crowd and people respect that. As the saying goes, only dead fish swim with the stream=)

Plus it helps that it's just a really great looking watch!!
