Seeing the Seiko of Aliens here
And the Ghibli detail here
It reminds me how Giugiaro is imho one of the greatest designer ever, maybe the one...
Voted Car designer of the century, a little post to show some more examples how beautiful his designs were and still are.

-the beginnings
For Bertone the 2600 Sprint for Alfa Romeo was one his first job, another one was the Iso Grifo
A master of all elements, fluidity, agressivity without getting too far and with wonderful proportions. The prototype is superb.

-The Masterpieces
He left Bertone for Ghia where he, imho, produced his two Masterpieces nearly at the same time, the classic Icon Maserati Ghibli and the breakthrough De Tomaso Mangusta
The Ghibli was a classic GT of its time, with front end engine, he designed a nice long hood, a very low line, and quite often wiht Giugiaro very pure line no unnecessary detail, just pure beauty.
Long, low, elegant and sporty, the front and the profile are especially beautiful, the rear is a more classical but perfect fastback.

The Mangusta was one of the first mid engined car, like the formula 1 of the time , and this was revolutionnary bach then. Here it's more agressive , more "squatty" compared ot the Ghibli.
But again no unnecessary detail, pure front, superb proportions and a fantastic rear, with two wings ready to fly . And a perfect balance between both. Certainly one of the greatest design ever.

-A global designer
But GIugiaro did also simple cars. The Golf is one of them, if it is one of the biggest success in automotive history and it's also because of its design. The original one was designed by Giugiaro, of course it changed through time but slowly, why would it have been different ?
Outside cars the Seiko for Aliens is certainly the most known out there,

But also coffee machine and a lot of other realisaiton at his company ItalDesign
Always a very clean design, mastering elegance and agressivity, with a great blend classicism and innovative. THere is always an incredible blaance imho in those design.
