Good morning everyone 🙂
I am looking recently to Porsche 911, especially those from year 1990 and upwards. I am looking into manual shifts for the driving experience and that is my only criteria. Would you suggest me any model, let say max 50-60k eur with max 100k km? Which one is the most reliable and most fun?

They are all supposed to be reliable (apart from the 996 that can have engine problems)

3.2 from 1988: the look very nice, but to much 80s in the look. But they look nice indeed.
993: I like this design a lot. I agree with the prices. It will be difficult to finde a "nice" one for that price.
968: not an option for me l, purely from design perspective.

At this price point buy the newest car with a dealer service history and a Porsche warranty. 

996 is clearly out (for the look(.
I just realized that 996 gt3 rs are very approachable .

If you want to use it regularly. Interior quality is a big improvement. 

from your perspective, AWD or not? Targa or not? GTS or not?

Agree. Ugly, and in my opinion Porsches biggest failure.

Thats why i want a 997.

Also that 996 with 997 nose kits. I can always see it done.
Beside of that, the overall look is out of proportion.

My favorite is the latest 991. I want a brand new with PDK.

I look first on price.
After it i check if it is no import.
Than the books must be 100% with Porsche dealer stamps.

Sure, 1 million km i will skip. But if it drove 200.000km, and it always handled with care, why not?

My advice, therefore, would be to go for a 997 (2nd generation) with full Porsche service history, ideally a Carrera S (no 4WD). GTS would be even better but I doubt that you will find a good one in your price range. 997s were substantially smaller than 991s or even 992s. A bit more difficult to drive than current models but this seems what you are looking for together with a manual gearbox. I had a 997 (2nd generation) GT3, the last one with the legendary Mezger engine, which was really fun to drive. Best, V.

I am looking also for a Porsche 911.
Honestly, i take also Cayman and Boxster into my search.

The 911 i am looking for is the 997 and upwards.
Opposite to you, i want tip tronic or PDK.
Model Carrera RWD.

The air cooled 993 is a big wish, and than it is no problem to choose a manual transmission.

You can push it so hard before it snaps.

Caymand an Boxster were never an option for me.
What i do like and only to a certain extent is the GT4.

I think i must use a 911 regularly. Not only a car to take out on a Sunday. A 993 is such a Sunday 911.

And to start, i think to to it with a 997 for daily use is perfect. Maybe it is better for me to go for a Cayman 2.7 or 3.2 with a replaced IMS lager, or a Cayman with solved the IMS ishoe factory wise (later Cayman models).

Tastes differ.

Not only a design car. The Cayman is the better 911, thanks to the mid engine.
But do you consider a 928 transaxle?
My opinion is the front engine is complex, and i always hesitate to the 928. The looks i like.

you don't need to spend all that money to get a great 911 experience, 911s were never about big engines and big speed, the purity of it is in the lightness, handling in a small car. The 996 is the last one that gives you that experience. If you want the perfect balance of speed and lightness I highly recommend the 996 GT3, probably the best Value for Fun car right now. People complain about how 996 is an ugly car, I completely disagree, it is the most unique 911 design and very beautiful.

From my side i’d confess i like the Cayman and Boxster.
Also from the years they had a 996 front.

Maybe i must go to look for a 996.
The boss when my father was working is a Porsche 911 expert. He drove much generations.
He owns a 996 cabriolet, he told my father it is his dream 911.
His bankaccount have room for new 991, but that is not his baby.
When i go to testdrive, i take him with me as a 911 expert.

here is mine, manual, zero options, completely basic, plastic interior, when I drive it, I feel the heritage of Porsche, I feel the connection with the 356 and early 911s.

The expert have the same, but in silver, because he like the first generation Audi TT.
