I have only briefly driven two models:
- 3.2 cabrio from 1988 which is slightly older than you might want. Fun and light but would show its age today
- 993: a very nice model with more ooomph. Has reached enviable status with the 'last air cooled' one (hence high prices) but I find it visually too ponderous already.
I recently declined a 968 which could have been a nice base for a track car. Something else altogether.
But better to hold off for a 964, which is my favourite ever. An early version with square mirrors ;-) and a manual of course, silver or dark green, blue.
They are all supposed to be reliable (apart from the 996 that can have engine problems)
