VW Corrado: a good old souvenir
I loved the Corrado so much that I owned all the versions, the 16V, a bit apathetic, the G60, nervous and yes, quite fun to drive, and the noble VR 6, with its 2, 9 6 Cylinders which offered a superb melody.
Its classic dashboard, a bit austere, to say the least...

I still remember all the fun it gave to me, after a " Oettinger " preparation. It was just fantastic.

I had a silver 1995 Corrado VR6. trade it in for a 1998 ginster yellow GTi VR6. the vr6 is such great engine....
Funny, I hesitated between the silver, the black and the green. I ended with the british green. ;) Yes, it was a really good engine, a bit greedy, though, but what a character!

I remember my Forest Green VR6 Corrado with tan leather interior fondly as well, I truly regret selling it. Great times.
And now I saw the new Golf 8 R being offered only in three colours
White, black and dark blue. The lack of colours here in Germany and Austria always makes me sad. Our streets are divided between black, silver and white, only every now and then a speck of red pops out. Henry Ford would have been happy, though ...

Oh man.
A colleague was crazy for these too. This was early 2000s and even then buying one (at least where we lived) was difficult. I don’t many had been sold in the country to start with and it being several years after production stopped not many were around. He found one, and I’d bet he still has it (that type of personality). It was if I recall a dark green colour.

Yes, memories. That was a really great and lovely car. With its electric spoiler it was a good reason to have a lot of looks at the mirror. ;)

Yes, the G60. Somehow it was more brutal than the VR6. I had a prepared G60 which had 200 HP instead of 160. It was really great to drive.
