... on the track, even the F1 drivers come out to watch. They make a great sound and there is some tight racing around the twisty bits. Great fun.

Rain soaked Melbourne F1 Grand Prix
Melbourne had four seasons in one day for the first qualifying session of the F1 GP around Albert Park Lake. These images are taken from the Schumacher stand overlooking the final two corners before pit straight.
There was a dry afternoon practice session but qualifying was delayed by 30 minutes and then cut short by torrential rain. Optimistic track officials tried to sweep water off the corners. Qualifying 2 and 3 was rescheduled for 11am Sunday, only 6 hours before the race.
Better weather is forecast for the race which is due to start in less than 2 hours time. Good luck to Mark Webber!

Amazing ...
... that is a very short straight and yet you can see (hear) them accelerating to a breaking point 5 metres before the next turn 
.. they all have the same engine sound and in the rain i heard some where going up an extra gear on that short straight probably for better (easier) grip .

I have met Kimi
a couple of times in a small night club in Helsinki. He's really not a rocket scientist but probably can drive the car.
This year we have 2.5 Finns in Formula Ones. Nico Rosberg is the half: he is having Finnish passport but he's competing with German license.

Our small doggy, now a bit over 6 months and a bit over 60 kg, has done nothing prohibited. She's just growing!

Actually i'm quite lucky ... he once walked away with my brand new Hugo Boss shoes but they recovered quite good from the experience ... as i always walk barefeet or just wear socks in the house my shoes are stored away and in our living room we have a 'prohibited for Louie' basket ... ... every time i put my shoes next to the baket i see a dog running with a shoe in his mouth ... shoes in the basket and he doesn't touch them ... .

I admit, a nutcase!
St. Bernhard is a very different dog. When growing, they have to rest a lot; I would guess 22 h every day. And when it's time to wake up, some 5 minutes are needed to consider weather to stand up or not. But when that +60 kg puppy is getting excited, the whole house is like after tornado.
But she is not doing anything that would be prohibited. I can leave anything next to my armchair that she loves. Just say "no, you can not touch it" (in Finnish naturally) and I can leave the house. The delicacies are untouched when I get back home.
There are some damages, too. The local fisherman used to come to the door once a week and sell fresh fish. Nowadays he's too scared and never stops to our house. Also no parcels are delivered home by the post anymore. They are just asking us to pick up everything.

V8 Supercars at Albert Park
The V8 Supercars are probably Australia's premier car racing series and developed out of the touring car racing that I grew up with. Holden versus Ford, but these days with the occasional Nissan and Mercedes Benz in the mix. The top 3 were Holden, Ford, Holden in Race 3 on Saturday.
Targa Tasmania at Albert Park
The Targa Tasmania is a 6 day tarmac rally held in April each year and covers over 600Km. The Targa attracts a wide range of cars from Lambo's and Ferrari's to Nissan GTR's, Porsche's, Imprezza, Lancer's, Lotus, Mini, Corvette's and many more. It is the variety and beautiful country driving courses that make it special. The F1 GP was an opportunity to get the cars on the track.
i'm not a big 4 wheel racing fan, but its good to see and hear the vid.
