Most of us think about our hobbies quite alot; that's one of the character hallmarks that make us PuristS.

Often we over intellectualize; other times we are just starting out and still on a steep learning curve.

There is always something to be said for intuition and "gut feeling" before the conscious brain gets involved. Dare I say, it's almost a bit like a mostly purely mechanical, analog car vs a highly digital, mostly computer controlled one?

Looking forward to some discussions, some of your reactions are quite interesting (2.4l? big block V8 sluggish?! eyeopening and thought provoking...)

Born in LA, moved to the UAE, studied in the UK... My teachers were quite clear when marking my essays that I should spell in the 'proper' way. But the American still slips out from time to time  

and will translate to English ... it has to be spontanious so my mother language is necessary .

* With apologies to Mr Shelby. When I was a child in the 1960's I only knew of Carol's and couldn't spell anyway. But I knew about the AC Cobra!

** Peter Brock ("Peter Perfect", "The King of the Mountain", "Brocky") was one of Australia's most famous racing drivers. He is synonymous with Holden racing but also raced the Volvo 850 T5 late in his career (mid 1990's). The first time I ever thought that Volvo was potentially cool.

Lamborghini: I really love only the old ones

Big Block V8: no good for europeans, I'm sorry, but what a personality!

Volvo: the best Swedish design, including some genuine gentleman's cars, in a very safe package; I wish they could have more success in the future, with a complete selection of cars

Carbon fiber: very very sexy, absolutely unavoidable in a sports car/motorbike

Porsche: mixed feelings, I really don't know if I love these hyper-mega-charged-Käfer

Sports car: they're like wonderful girls: you can appreciate them, even love them, but - sadly - hardly have them, and almost never be able to drive them properly

GT: two letters that inspired, inspire and will inspire a lot of men, but we've recently seen some unappropriate use...
