Sometimes...Less is more.
And granted everyone will have a different opinion on this subject.
Some people prefer to have more choices and some people at some point, for whatever their reasons, one day decide that Less is More!
These are decisions that are made in the gut and in the heart and are personal choices and have no right and wrong answer.
But I like your choice. It was gutsy and a harder choice than just letting the opportunity pass. If this watch moved you than you did the right move!
I personally really like the Aquanaut!

Though not related to watches, this kind of thing had happened to me before, and not just once.
I tend to be Indeterminate and irresolute at times, and that' the part of me that I want to change a bit.

Am myself very much in favour of the 5167/1A over the 5711 due simply to the bracelet. Much better IMO.

Cool congrats but you need the rubber strap, first it goes great with the dial, and if you think it's comfortable on bracelet wait until you wear it on rubber…

The AD did not have the rubber version in stock. But I'm normally a bracelet guy anyway.
BTW, in the eyes of my friends who are not into watches, we WIS are no doubt crazy guys!
rubber strap was the original design
for this reference and having had one when first released years ago, it was one of the most comfortable watches out there as the rubber strap can be sized so precisely. I regret selling it. I would love to see the bracelet on this one for comfort Glad you love it, that is all that matters..

who do not understand the beauty and lure that we experience. Many of my friends cannot understand why someone would pay $3000 for a timepiece let alone one that is five or six figures... or even more.
Each person spends their money on what gives them pleasure. We spend our money on watches which, continues to give pleasure even to the next generation.

You just bought the most comfortable watch I know.
But do not try the Tropical band because if you do, your nice steel bracelet will stay on the top drawer and you will love your Aquanaut 5167 even more.
I bought the same many years ago with bracelet and later the Tropical. However, I sold the watch because the Certificate was on the name of somebody else. I thought I could find a new one "any day" and I started to miss the watch very soon. But it wasn't easy to find! As you can read from my other post, I made a 26 hours journey to get the watch and flew from Helsinki to London, from there to LA and from LA to Honolulu. But it was worth it!
