I wish that one day Patek would again produce a simple Calatrava made of steel. However, it looks like for the time being the recession is not deep enough for that.

Feel exactly like you, but
"knowing" PP I'm afraid a steel made Calatrava would not necessarily have to be a bargain.... Owning some white gold models of different brands - simply because there were no "reduced" alternatives available - in my humble opinion steel is still the best material for a watch. And the 3417 is gorgeous AND useful.

I stupidly "missed the train" few years ago as I was having a great opportunity but at that time I did not realize and let it go ;-( ; that was in München 15 years ago and I still remember that as if it was yesterday !
